Beyonce to Perform National Anthem at President Obama’s Inauguration
She’s done it before, and it’s only right that she does it again.
Beyonce has been asked, for the second time, to welcome Barack Obama into the Oval office for his second term. Last year the mother-of-one performed Etta James’ ‘At Last’, which to many, was one of the highlights of the President’s first Inauguration.
Beyonce and her husband Jay-Z are amongst some of the President’s most high profile supporters. She even wrote Obama a letter of praise ahead of last November’s US presidential election.
And, Obama of course is over the moon, saying in a statement:
Vice President Biden and I are honored to have these wonderfully talented musical artists perform at the Inaugural ceremony. Their music is often at the heart of the American story and speaks to folks across the country.
The announcement came on the same day super, sexy pics of the single Ladies star on the cover of GQ were released.
Kelly Clarkson and James Taylor will also be performing at the star studded event.
Superbowl performance, new album, her own HBO documentary, GQ cover and now this! 2013 really is Beyonce’s year.
