One night with D’Banj
HMV Apollo on 27th August was packed beyond expression, with the audience expecting nothing but the best, with arts such as May7ven, Noni Zondi, and Vibe Squad, Nateo C and Davido.
Although, during the weekend David Adedeji Adeleke aka DAVIDO release a statement stating he wouldn’t be attending the D’Banj show, there were hardly any entry seats.
“I applied for a work permit at the British Embassy in Abuja/Lagos but unfortunately up till the close of business on Friday August 24, 2012 I was unable to obtain a work permit, as a result I have to cancel my performance and my trip to the United Kingdom altogether.”
The main host for the night was Deejay Abrantee who was really entertaining; he had audience laughing and had almost everybody on the feet dancing.
For those who didn’t know the South African artist Noni Zondi definitely wouldn’t forget her in a hurry. With an astonishing body and good lyrics, guys with their girlfriends struggle to stay in their seats, as she exist the stage.
May7ven performance was also really good; her single Ten Ten had lots of people dancing. The conclusion to her performance was with male dancers doing the Azonto, which was my favorite.
The most anticipated man of the night D’Banj tease his fans minutes before making himself visible. When he finally appeared on stage, the crowd went crazy, with everybody on their feet there was nothing left but to dance. D’Banj is truly a man of his people, while performing some of his hits he made his way through a 3,000 plus audience with no security, now if doesn’t show that he loves his fans then I don’t know what will. He is the first artist I have seen make his way from stage through the downstairs audience to upstairs towards the VIP area to dance with the fans with no security.
D’Banj is an overall entertainer and that is without a doubt as he performed Oliver Twist to conclude the amazing night.
