OK! Nigeria gets exclusive backstage access at Lianne La Havas gig

OK! Nigeria had exclusive backstage access at Lianne La Havas’s sold-out gig at Village Underground in east London on Tuesday, July 18

For the second night in a row, Lianne’s show was sold out.

The first act, Mara Carlyle, is a classical singer song writer, whose song Piannis sound tracked an Ikea advert back in 2010. She warmed the crowd up until Lianne  arrived on stage.

Lianne did an acoustic show which was live streamed online and her performance was outstanding, the dim lights surrounding her and the spotlights directed towards her made her look mesmerising in a black see-through Tom Ford skin tight dress and colourful afrocentric pumps.

As always, Lianne sang heart out, sharing personal anecdotes between each song. The best numbers of the night were Final 4, an exclusive, which isn’t on the album, Tease Me, Older Man, Empty and Forget. After an hour of pure bliss, she exited the stage but a unanimous frenzy of cheers lured her back for one last song, the album title track  – Is Your Love Big Enough‘.

Backstage for the last time to say goodbye to Lianne, we were pleased to meet Eliza Doolittle, who had also come to  support her.
